Congratulations to Mr Ireng Guntorojati, AA, as the first ASEAN Architect Excellence Award awardee from Indonesia. The ceremony of the first ASEAN Architect Excellence Award (AAEA) - 2025 took place at the Gala Dinner hosted by the Viet Nam Monitoring Committee held on Friday, 7 November 2025, at the Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa.
Professional Profile
Mr Ireng Guntorojati is a Senior Architect and General Manager at Wiratman Chodai Indonesia with over fifteen years of experience in architectural and infrastructure projects across Southeast Asia. His expertise includes architectural design, urban planning, and the application of innovative materials and construction methods for complex buildings. He has contributed to major regional projects such as the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge in Vietnam, the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network in the Philippines, and the post-earthquake rehabilitation of the Palu IV Bridge in Indonesia.
He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), focusing his research on the architectural resilience of existing buildings in Indonesia. Beyond his professional practice, he is also actively engaged in knowledge sharing through technical publications, national workshops, and academic collaborations. He is also involved in community development initiatives such as the Wiratman Architectural Design Competition for university students and the Wiratman Karkasa CSR program, which provides sustainable housing in isolated areas around Jakarta. His career reflects a strong commitment to architectural excellence, sustainability, and advancing architectural practices in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
